Montini Catholic and Walther Lutheran battled to a defensive struggle in the first quarter with both teams scoring only 12 points. Walther Lutheran soon pulled away with a 9-0 run until Montini battled back to come within four at the half. Montini set the tone in the third with a strong defensive presence and starting putting the ball in the basket, taking the lead 35-34 going to the fourth. Both teams came out with a lot of energy to start the fourth, much like two teams who really wanted to win. Lots of high energy defense with plenty of floor diving involved, a hustle guy's kind of game but in the end Montini was just too much as they cruise in the fourth and hold on 52-49 to upend Walther Lutheran.
