In the second semi final of the Aurora East Sectional featured Metea Valley and Downers Grove South, both known as the Mustangs. The first quarter was run by defense and both teams taking advantage of opportunities and DGS led after one, 14-11. The second quarter featured both teams looking to mix up good defense with run and gun offense, difficult combination to handle but both teams were up to the task and Downers Grove South ended up with a 25-21 lead at the half. Third quarter started off with both teams streaking with baskets before defense and set offense took a roll for a bit. After a timeout, Metea picked up the pace, finished strong and ended the third quarter with a 40-34 lead. Metea came out strong in the fourth with a 10-3 run and looked sharp, keeping Downers Grove South on their toes with great defense and fluid offensive rhythm. DGS did a great job hanging around, keeping it single digits for much of the fourth. But in the end, Metea was just too much and they get the sweet taste of victory, 60-51 over Downers Grove South
